We are inviting our Friends of the Forest to the fifth annual Friends Only event here at Black Rock Forest!

Why do we have wifi in parts of the Forest? What are those prehistoric-looking insects in the water (hint: dragonfly larvae)? What’s killing our American Beech trees?

Our Friends of the Forest are invited to meet the scientists who are answering these questions: Mr. Edwin Reed-Sanchez of the Bronx Community College (wifi), Dr. Allyson Jackson of Purchase College of SUNY (dragonflies), and Mr. Justin Bowers of the City University of New York (Beech trees).

We are offering TWO start times (10am & 10:30am) to ensure that everyone has a chance to interact with each scientist.

The event will include: Coffee, Jones Farm donuts & apples at check-in. Maps will be provided for self-guided walks to speaker locations. A digital map of the Forest is available on Avenza Map for those interested.

Only Friends of the Forest (annual supporters) will be admitted to this private event!
