Black Rock Forest is launching it’s Phenology Trail Monitoring Program for volunteers on Tuesday, March 2nd. Master Science Educator, Dr. Angie Patterson and Research Manager, Katie Terlizzi will teach the basics of phenology and how to get started. This webinar will be followed by an in person training at Black Rock Forest on Saturday, March 5th.

Description: Help Black Rock Forest record the timing of seasonal events as we collect data from 15 plants along our Honey Hill Phenology Trail. Phenology is often referred to as nature’s calendar, and the timing of environmental cues is a key indicator of climate change. BRF is looking for volunteers to collect data 2-4 times per month throughout most of the year. Whether you already visit the Forest regularly or need a great excuse to visit more often, the Phenology Trail Monitoring Program is a great opportunity to contribute to science!

Please note: Volunteers will be required to attend both the webinar and in-person training sessions in order to actively submit observations for the BRF Phenology Trail Monitoring Program. Registrants will receive additional details and Zoom registration info prior to the webinar on March 2nd.
